Wireless Fire Detection System

Wireless fire protection is increasingly being used as an addition to conventional cabled systems. The great advantage of this type of fire detection system is that it can be installed quickly with minimum of disruption. It is particularly useful in areas where routing cables is difficult or where the building fabric needs to be preserved such as a listed building for example.

Similar to their wired S-Quad sensors, Gent by Honeywell have a range of wireless fire detection devices that use heat and optical technologies similar to the S-Quad. The system works by the sensor being mounted on a wireless base and sending messages to the transceivers without any wires or cables.

With a transmission range of 300 metres the system can be situated in most buildings, overcoming any problems relating to cabling issues.

The wireless detection system is only suitable for use with the Vigilon control panel and is not compatible with Nano.
